Getting around Galati is easy with the hundreds of maxi taxis which trawl the city. They are numbered by the routes and have designated stops but if you can figure this out then you just jump on and jump off at your stop and hand the driver your money which is normally about 1 leu. Very cheap. Most play music, sometimes a bit on the loud side but this makes for a relaxing journey.
