A Bottle of Moonshine on Every Table!

We ate at a pension across the street from the Merry Cemetery in Sapanta. Our friendly hostess filled us up with simmering bowls of soup with meat dumplings (ciorba de perisoare) and vine leaves stuffed with minced pork and rice. On top of that, every table was adorned with a complimentary bottle of moonshine. That sure beats the free bread and water you get at restaurants in America. Maybe one day it'll catch on here...As an added bonus, there was a book translating the poems on the gravestones in the Merry Cemetery into a few different languages, one of them being English.
The minced pork-stuffed vine leaves were delicious as was the pork dumpling soup. The one drawback to the restaurant was the lack of variety - there was one choice for soup, one for the entree, and one for dessert. On second thought, a menu with numerous selections would've likely lacked English translations, thus...
