Favorite thing: When we left Targu Mures and travelled by road to Oradea, we saw lots of old villages where people were still living in the traditional way.
THEN, we came across what my photos are of - Multi-story buildings that looked like they were homes! Most were built in the same style with the same decorations. Surely many families must live in one home?
Some were built in-between the old and looked so out of place!

We were very surprised as the parts of Romania we had seen did not look to be rich, yet here were houses being built by RICH people - Were they Romanian?
I don't know! It was Interesting though!

    Visit the tourist office

    Tourist Office

Favorite thing: We visited the tourist office located at the corner of the Cultural Palace. The man spoke English and was friendly. We ask for a city map. The one you see on picture no. 2 is extremely useful so try to get one.

Please note that you have to ask detailled questions as information isn't easily forthcoming. So it makes sense to think beforehand of everything you want to ask.

    Send a postcard

    Romanian stamps

Favorite thing: The ordinary small kiosk in the streets don't sell any postcards but there is a souvenir shop where we found some. The shop is located across the street vom the tourist office just about where the Piata Trandafirilor goes into the Piata Victoriei.

Later we saw that postcards are also on sale in the cultural palace.

We bought our stamps (RON 2.10 airmail for Europe in April 2012) at the Postoffice no. 1 just at the beginning of Piata Revolutiei.
