The Massif Ceahlau is majestically risig over all around mountains, with its stately peeks Ocolasu Mare (1907m), Panaghia and Toaca (1904m), Gheodeon (1845m), Lespezi (1801m).
All mountain friends, this climb on this hallowed mountain, get a feeling of silence, pride, and enthusiasm.
This mountain was always a real castle, built from the nature.
There is an unwritten law of the mountain, which must be respect by the tourists.
"...when you enter in the Holy Mountain Ceahlau, step in quiet, for you to sing of the power of this land and to feel that you added yourself to our nation, keeper of the Carpathians." (Gheorghe Iacomi)

The church is a monument that combines a long-time historic existence, with wonderful building characteristics and with inestimably artworks.
It is one, from which most beautiful wood constructions, from Moldova.
First, was built In Valeni a small wood church, under the order of Petru Rares, the sovereign of Moldova. That was, renovated, painted and decorated in the year 1560, under Alexandru Lapusneanu, another sovereign of Moldova.
Into this old church, there is, valuable icons that have a chronological value, and a historic and cultural meaning.
All aged icons that existed in the church of Valeni were taken on from the Mitropolie from Moldova, as important artworks, and were brought in the prominent convent, Agapia, Neamt, or Varatec.
This wood church is a piece of history, a true artwork, and an important information source, over the past of this aged place.

Ceahlau Mountains view from Durau
4 more images

The mountain mass is placed in the central part of Oriental Carpathians.
They are made of variety of rocks (marl, calcareous stones, clay schist, clay, grit stones, and many calcareous conglomerates).
Maximum altitude: 1907m (vf. Ocolasu Mare).
Thanks to the presence of the calcareous conglomerates, Ceahlau Massif presents a famous picturesquely relief: abrupt, towers, threshold, rocky ridges, cliffs, etc.
With its lonely prominence, the Ceahlau bounds the characteristic of hydrographical point, witch in the Carpathian rivers Bistrita, Bicazul and Bistricioara with their affluent sculpted in an original and unknown way.
A lot of precipitations that fall in Ceahlau are in the spring and summer.
The snow can fall in every month of the year, excepting the month of July and August.
Ceahlau Mountains are covered by woods of foliage, fir, beech, spruce fir, mixture, and bushes (in the alpine area).
We find in the woods a very varied world of animals: vertebrate (frog, salamander, snakes, adder) and invertebrate (butterfly, bee, ear wig, snail), rodent (squirrel, European wild mouse, bat, hedgehog, mole), birds (spotted, wood-pecker, blackbird collared, three fingers wood-pecker, mountain cock), mammalian (bear, deer, wild cat, wild boar, marten, lynx, otter, chamois, fox, wolf, hare).

If you ever consider to visit Dochia caban, expect at least 6 (six) hour of climing, if you are fortunate, into the forest, and great view and feelings. Try taking "Lutul Rosu" (this a winter route), or "Poiana Maicilor (from where you can see the whole mountain, top to bottom), i mean the first time i was there i went like: "OH! MY GOOOOD!", do get me? :)) Of course, there are more routes to climb Dochia, marked or unmarked!
