Favorite thing: To cater for the visitors to Peles Castle and the ski slopes a modern town has sprung up, mainly along one main street lined with hotels, restaurants, bars and shops. At weekends, especially during the ski season, it is packed with young Romanians, mostly students from Bucharest who come up by train.

Sinaia

Favorite thing: From the city center you can take the cable car up the mountains from where you can get a good view and breath in some clean, fresh air.

Fondest memory: Watching Korea beat Italy on the WC 2002. I thought the romanian would support their Roman brothers, but after the South-Korean Golden Goal a small party was started.

SINAIA

Favorite thing: Located in the Southern Carpathians, Sinaia was the former summer Royal Residence (Hohenzollern Royal House), situated on Prahova Valley on the European road 60, 44 km far from Brasov, at the foot of the Bucegi Mountains, at an altitude ranging between 800 - 1,000 m.
Half of the resort lies on the right side of Prahova river, where Varful cu Dor Peak and Furnica Peak rise above the town. On the left side you enter Cumpatu District, surrounded by one important mountain: Baiului (1,900 m).
Unlimited possibilities for tourists, and Sinaia's unique atmosphere makes a vacation here truly special. While you are here visit Sinaia Monastery (founded in 1690 - 1695 by Spatharus Mihail Cantacuzino), the Peles Castle and the ancient Casino of Sinaia. From Sinaia, the winding road takes you through Poiana Tapului to Busteni. Here we advice you to take the Busteni-Babele cable car to arrive to "Babele" (old ladies) (an unique natural monument - stones looking likeold ladies talking).

Favorite thing: Sinaia is 48km south of Brasov on the DN1 towards Bucharest. Travelling by train is just as fast and probably safer than travelling by car. From the station, climb the stairs to main road and turn left to reach Bulevardul Carol 1, Sinaia's main street on which you'll find all you need.
Is a small mountain city so you can came here in all the season and is still beautyfull and you have to go up on the mountain to see the stil cross and the nice panorama.(i'm sorry that i don't have pictures of it...).

Favorite thing: This is Sinaia's main street, Bulevardul carol I. As you can see, there's nothing special to see around this street, but there's a number of shops, restaurants and bars alongside it.
