Satu Mare Central, a typical Transilvanian station by edvin_br Satu Mare is an importent railway junction because of te cities idustries and because the county borders Hungary and Ukraine. There are 2 stations in Satu Mare. The Central station is the old one and its located at Grivitei strret. The station is a typical Transilvanian station and trains from all around Romania arrive there every day (including 2 night trains from Bucharest) and ther are also international trains to/from Hungary and Ukraine. The station is not far from the city Center but you can take a taxi or a bus that are both located just outsdie the station. The second station, called Satu Mare South is located at the other side of the Somes river and its used only by local trains. Leave a Comment Theme: Train

A bus on its way to the train station by edvin_br City buses are very cheap way to get from one to another place in Satu Mare, but its somewhat not efficient because the city center can be seen by walking... and if you need a longer ride a taxi is a better solution i believe (taxies are still very cheap in Satu Mare) and its much more comfertable than bus. Most of the bus stations has been replaced lately to new ones. The buses are still in updgrading process, some are refurbished, but yet there are many old buses that need a lot of work to be done on them. Leave a Comment Theme: Bus

The city hall tower by edvin_br The city hall of Satu Mare was built under the communist regime (as a part of the "new town center" project) and its probably the highets building in the whole county. It contains the offices of the city and county authorities... the cities archive, where you can get your birth certificate for example. On the top city halls tower, you can notice an electronic sign that shows the local tim and the temp... I hope its adjusted at the right way... :) Leave a Comment Directions: The new city center

The Park at the Liberty square, Satu Mare by edvin_br There are several recration sites around the town center of Satu Mare. The most central (and probably the most beautifu) one is located in the center of the Liberty (Libertatii) square. Its ulrtracentral location, in the middle of the old town makes it a very active place all day long. There are many trees, flowers, statues, fountains and flower sellers. At the other hand, there are many drunk people and Gypsy beggars hanging around the park, but they wil do no harm. At the meeting of Bratianu and Traian boulevards there are another few parks located at the middle of the wide Vasile Lucaciu boulevard. Other attractions in that crosspoint are the county museum and the Transilvania complex. At the continuance of Traian blvd, one of the cities largest parks is located. The park is called "Gradina Romei". Often you will see kids riding a bike or skating on rollerblades at the park, where the silence and the pleasent weather makes it look like an oasis in the middle of the big city.
