Luxembourg House, Sibiu
The Luxembourg House is a former trade House. Later the Luxemburg Consulate came in this building. The building is also known as the Red House. At the groundfloor is an bar with summer terrace nicily located at the side of the Bridge of Lies. Casa Luxembourg is also a boutique hotel.
The baroque facade dates back to the 18th century. Before two gothic houses from the 15th century, one facing the Small Square and one facing the Huet Square were combined together to the actual building.
The house resulted by combining two gothic houses from the 15th century, one facing Small Square and one facing Huet Square. In the 18th century houses were transformed to the current architecture. Formerly named Schaser House, from 2004 the house took the name Luxembourg House. It is one of the most iconic facade in Sibiu, easy recognizable.
