By train: There are many trains from Brasov, Bucuresti,...For Sighisoara you'll have to change trains at either Copsa Mica or Medias Get around on foot. The center is rather compact and the train station is only 2 minutes from the center. Easy!! Leave a Comment Theme: Train

by tiganeasca A view of the Liar's Bridge--so-called because the very short iron bridge is supposed to collapse if anyone standing on it ever tells a lie. It got that reputation because when new, merchants often met there to transact business. Unfortunately, Ceausescu gave a speech from the bridge and it's still standing! Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Best way of going to Sibiu is by either your own car or by train. For travellers from abroad they should choose an intercity because the quality of other Romanian trains lacks a lot. Best way is with your own car. But you can also make use of the buses in the city. Some years ago these buses had a bad reputation for not being in time, but maybe this emproved. Anyway you only need the bus to go to the Museum of Romanian Village and to the Zoo. To see the old city you only need to walk. Leave a Comment Theme: Train

Buses travel around the town at very few minutes apart, but cabs ar the best and fastest way to get to your destination.Sibiu is not a big town so if you enjoy walking, feel free to do it. Leave a Comment Theme: Bus

You shouldn't worry about transportation in Sibiu as all is in walking distance. Choose a hotel in walking distance of Piata Mare (see my accommodation tips) and you not need public transport. Further is only the Astra Romanian Folk Civilization Museum for which you need to take a taxi (as they are around 5km from city center) - estimated return ride cost is RON 25 (EUR 6). by codrutz First of all please read my transportation page for Romania as I tried to make it as comprehensive as I could. If you come from abroad flying is probably the best option. Sibiu has a good airport http://www.sibiuairport.ro/ which is very close to the city, just take a taxi and in 10 minutes you are in Sibiu. Cost for one way ride should be no more than RON 20 (EUR 5). If you come from other cities in Romania you can use trains or buses, but in my opinion taking a plane is faster and reliable (Tarom internal flights are basic but ok - using ATR planes) Leave a Comment

Traveling by train in Transylvania by tijs In april of 2002 I traveled by train through Transylvania. Trains are not as frequent as in Western Europe, but it is a good and fast way to enjoy the landscape and meet people. Be careful for the exceptions in the timetable. Some trains don't go in weekends or holidays, others only in the weekends etc. Sometimes it is better to hitchhike. Many people hitchhike, so nobody will be surprised. And don't forget to give the driver some money. That's what they expect. Check out my website that I made about my trip. Leave a Comment
