 Sibiu's main square by Dabs
As you can see in the attached photo, one of the main draws to Sibiu, the ordinarily charming and picturesque main square, is under major construction. Signs posted around the square show a lovely picture of what it should look like when it is finished which is projected to be the end of 2005.
This didn't ruin our visit here as I knew about it before visiting but if I had to pick one place on our itinerary that I would have skipped, Sibiu would have been it.
My advice, if your itinerary is tight, is to check with the locals about the progress for when you are visiting. If you are going that way anyways, its still worth a stop. Leave a Comment

Maybe there are a little too many dogs around Sibiu. They are not dangerous, but still .... they are a problem.
On the other hand, really annoying when driving are the roads. The main streets are good, but if you get deeper in Sibiu .... ay ay ay :)) Leave a Comment

Be aware of curency exchange. Don't trust people you feel dubious. First follow the oficial chanels. Check with the local church and make good friends first. Leave a Comment

When I arrived in Sibiu on the early morning by overnight train from Sibiu, the train station was full of incredibly noisy, annoying and probably drunk youngsters. I guess I was there at the time of the year when all field trips are organised. The next day there were also many of them around the area of the Folk Museum on the outskirts of town. Not really dangerous I guess, but damn annoying!! Leave a Comment
