While the painted monasteries of Bucovina are spread out in the country side, your best options are just two: you either hire a car from Suceava (you arrive here either by train or air) - unless you tour around Romania by car-, or you can join a tour from any travel agency in the region (from Suceava or Gora Humurului). In our case the painted Monasteries were the part of the tour we organized with Nord Nord Vest agency from Baia MAre as we made a combined tour of Maramures and Bucovina.
