Favorite thing: Just south-east of town centre, a 5 minutes walk from the canal, in Dalei st. and its side streets, there are tens of students’ bars and almost as many discos. One place to eat is the Millennium, where you can see very local food on the counter and it is also good value for your money.
Fondest memory: There seems to be a crowd of youths having a good time at almost every time of day. Why not join them?

Favorite thing: In 1889 Timisoara got electrical street lights. It was the first european city to have it. There is a street lamp just outside Huniades palace (The history museum) that commemorates this. In case you might not know about it..

Favorite thing: Altough Timisoara is a pretty old city and has a lot of history you can see today more and more new bulidings that are shining and made of glass. A lot of Banks built in this style but there are a lot of new Office Building, Hotels and Administrative Buildings. The thing that impresed me the most is that the new bulildings fit very well with the old once and it makes a very good harmony.
Fondest memory: I remember that i saw the BRD Bank on the way to the football stadium. A pretty big and impressive building.

Favorite thing: Catch the soul of the city! Timisoara is a very important cultural center of Romania and you can even feel it in the air. The very central square named the Victory Square (here the Romanian revolution started) is guarded on one side by the magnificent Orthodox Cathedral and on the other side by the Opera House. Go on Sundays to attend the Orthodox service in the morning and in the evening at the Opera House for a classical delight. You will have a day like in a dream!
