Mamaia Beach

Mamaia is a summer resort by the Black Sea, and the main thing people go here for is the beach! So hit the beach and have fun.

Mc Donald's: The mobile department..., Mamaia

Nobbe Says:  Found this funny Mc Donald's on the beachwalk next to the Black Sea. Never seen anything like it before so I could't resist taking a photo of it. Didn't know that Mc Donald's had this kind of mobile department... =) A Big Mac Menue costed around €2.5.

La Cucaracha

The best place for nightlife I visited in Mamaia was a place called La Cucaracha. The place itself is next to the beach, and during the weekends when this place is really crowded you can dance on the beach.

Dress Code: Come as you are.

Bus

Bus, Mamaia

Nobbe Says:  A more cheap way instead of the taxi, to getting around in Mamaia, or to visit the town Constanta is to take the bus. One way ticket costed around 15.000 LEI. 10.000 LEI = 2.5 SEK = $0.33

Taxi

Taxi, Mamaia

Nobbe Says:  Taking a taxi in Mamaia is a smoth way to getting around. I took the taxi only once, and that was to the nearby town Constanta. It costed about 250.000 LEI, and I found out later that I payed to much. A more normal price should have been around 140.000 LEI. 100.000 LEI = 25...

Warnings and Dangers

Strange bill

Strange bill, Mamaia

Nobbe Says:  Restaurant Peperoni - At this restaurant I ordered a pasta meal and was asked what kind of cheese I would like on top of the pasta and had two suggestions so I choosed one of them. After the order the waiter came back with the drinks and also placed some bread on the table....

Toll

Toll, Mamaia

Nobbe Says:  To enter the Mamaia area by car from the south (close to Constanta) you have to pay some Road Toll, so if you're coming directly from the airport it can be handy to have exchanged your currency into some Romanian money to pay with. If you enter from the north, you will not...

At Mamaia you will find alot of activities like beachvolley, football, basket, jetskies, paragliding etc, and close to the hotels you can find tennis, minigolf etc. Here you can see my friend Per, who lost both matches in minigolf against me.
