It seems that this is a "must go" for all Roman Catholic adepts.
They consider this as the most important pilgrimage place in Eastern Europe.
Annually, about 300 000 people (more that the entire population of Harghita County) come here with birch branches for worship to the Statue of Virgin Mary.
The statue is made in linden wood in 1515 and it is believed to “make miracles” and heal any disease.
More than this, the Baroque architecture is something not so often found in Romania and this is making unique this place.
It isn't usual for us to see in the Romanian churches (most of them orthodox churches) those lavish Corinthian columns with golden capitals.

I am still wondering why the official page is written in only one language?!
If somebody knows the answer, please help me with it.
I don't mean that it must be in the official language of the country (which is Romanian) but at least in English to make it understandable for everybody, isn't it?
