A lot of Moeciu de Sus is Pensiuneas newly built.

But the village still has got some traditinal activities like haystacking or taking care of the cows.

I loved just to walk and see the different landscapes and the people in their everyday activities.

Everything is very clean and green and for a moment I even felt like buying a guesthouse myself here! :-)

You must go to Bran, which is a village near by.There is The Bran Castle, also called Dracula's Castle. The legend of Dracula is known almost all over the world. It is said that there lived long time ago Vlad Dracul which was concidered to be a vampire. What I have to worn you about is that you won't find clubs or bars...It's only for relaxing! But believe me! It is worth spending some days here.

Go organic!

You will normally eat very well at the Guesthouses.
All the food we had in ours was totally organic and locally grown.

Favorite Dish: Branza (cheese)

Treking to Poiana Gutalunui

Poiana Gutalunui

Poiana Gutalunui - Piciorul Merezului
(I hope I got the spelling right !)

This is a wonderful path to trek.
It is not too strenuous but take it easy because it took us some 8 hours to get there and to come back.

We even made a canine friend who accompanied us all the way up and down! Even dogs get friendly in Romania :-)

To get o Piatra Gutaluni follow the path signaled with red and white triangles.

Equipment: Basic treking or hiking gear: boots, backpack with some lunch, etc...

You can even bring you mobile phone because Romania is from all the countries I know, the one with best signal coverage.
Even in the mountains there is always some antenna close and full signal.
Good to send pics or messages to your friends or family....
