We had a fun night here.... I'm lucky I found it, my friends got the name confused and told me to meet them at 'Peanuts.' Once I found the place, I was surprised to see bikini-clad dancers on the bar for our entertainment. Here's what the entertainment magazine writes about the place: Located in the downtown Amzei area, Planter's is another exclusive venue in Bucharest, where many of the local stars choose to spend their nights partying. Frequently visited by expats, Planter's has gained its fame with its classic design and good music. Although there is no entry price, the lofty prices make up for it.
The club does not require a special dress code, but sneakers and sandals are out of the question. Leave a Comment Theme: NightclubAddress: 39 10 Mendeleev StreetPhone: (+4) 0721.200.050

My friend and I visited Opium Studio one evening during our visit to Bucharest in March 2008. This quirky little bar is located on Strada Horei, between Bulevardul Ferdinand and Bulevardul Pache Protopopescu, to the east of the city centre. Finding it involved a lot of wandering down dimly lit side streets and passing groups of stray dogs. I really wasn’t sure where we were heading, and the review in the guidebook (complete with the bar’s motto: “an endless dream”) did little to ease my fears that this might be some narcotics-filled den of iniquity. The bar’s external appearance offered no clues as to what lay inside, but we proceeded through an archway and found the large wooden door that led inside. I’d like to point out in the strongest possible terms, and much to my relief, that this is *not* a drugs den and, despite its name, you cannot purchase opium there! When we entered, we saw a group of young locals sitting around a large table smoking narghile pipes in a room to our right, and a dimly lit bar area (with décor that could best be described as “eclectic”, and just a little bit morbid) to our left. The music was not at all what I expected – some rather incongruous 1950s/60s love ballads. We sat at a table in the bar area and ordered a couple of beers. The waitress, perhaps assuming (wrongly!) that as tourists we might not want the cheaper local beer, brought us a couple of bottles of Heineken (9 Lei / 1.80 GBP per 500ml bottle). Once we’d had time to look at the drinks menu, we saw that bottled Silva Brune was available at 7 Lei, Corona at a rather expensive 15 Lei per bottle, as well as a large choice of spirits, wines, vodka shots, cocktails, soft drinks and hot beverages. The bar is open daily until 4am, and we noticed karaoke nights being advertised on the menu – but thankfully not while we were there! On leaving, the barman asked us where we were from and asked us to spread the word of this bar to friends and family back home – or, in my case, to random people on an Internet travel site! A friendly, quirky, and just a little scary bar on the back streets of Bucharest. This place is a legend as they e.g. sell the cheapest Red Bull vodka in the world. ´ If you like local, unpretentious, student crowd getting down to classic songs that you won’t have heard for ages, this is the one place in town you can be guaranteed to find it, every night of the week. Live music on most weekend nights. Club A is open as follows: 10:00-05:00, Sunday: 21:00-05:00, Friday: 10:00-06:00, Saturday: 21:00-06:00
No dress code. Go as you are. We saw everything from thin and short summer clothing to jeans to practically anything.

by alirom The capital's restaurants are regaining their vigour; grilled beef, chicken or pork are the basis of many dishes, followed by a variety of pastries for dessert. Enliven your meals with Romanian wines and with plum brandy (Tuica), the national drink, as an appetizer. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere in bars, restaurants and night clubs is welcoming, often refined by the rhythms of gypsy music. Romanians are warm-hearted people who like to enjoy themselves. Why not join them and have fun. Leave a Comment Theme: NightclubAddress: Splaiul Independentei, nr 290

For an experience you will never forget visit Sundari massage - easily accessible - only a 2 minute walk from Piata Victoriei metro station. This establishment offers all types of massage from classic therapeautic to erotic - a real delight with some fantastic looking girls! And a rarity in Bucharest - all the girls are fully qualified. The best part of the experience is that you will feel like you are at home in the salon - the girls are very friendly - they do not ask for the money first and the environment is very welcoming! Also, the choice of girl is yours - something that you won't get everywhere!!! The facilities too are excellent with a brand new shower room and three different themed rooms to choose from. They even visit your hotel, if that is where you feel more comfortable. For full details ring Daniela on: (021) 312 2952 0723 393 318 Believe me, I have visited a lot of massage establishments in Bucharest and there is not another where you feel so comfortable, will not be riped off and enjoy the company of some extremely beautiful women. Bucharest is home to Romania's largest recording labels, and is often the residence of Romanian, and more recently Moldovan, musicians. The city's music scene is quite eclectic. Many Romanian rock bands of the 1970s and 1980s, such as Iris and Holograf, continue to be popular, particularly with the middle-aged, while since the 1990s there has been growth in the boy band and hip hop genres. The eclectic pop-rock band Taxi have been gaining international respect, as has Spitalul de Urgenţă's raucous updating of traditional Romanian music. While many discos play manele, a Turkish-influenced type of music that is particularly popular in Bucharest's working class districts, the city has an increasing jazz and blues scene, and, to an extent, eurodance/trance and heavy metal/punk. The city's nightlife, particularly its club scene grew significantly in the 1990s, and continues to increase. The city does not have a central nightlife strip, with many entertainment venues dispersed throughout the city centre. One of the city's best known clubs is the Lăptăria Enache, located above the National Theatre, as well as Fire Club and Club A. The 2000s also saw an increasing visibility of Bucharest gay culture, with the opening of the Queen's Club, the first LGBT club in the city, in 2001, the launch of the annual Bucharest GayFest in 2004, and the city's first gay pride parade as part of the 2005 GayFest. Terminus Bar by Romanian_Bat Terminus was one of the harbingers of the nightlife in Bucharest. They have Guiness, they have Kilkenny and they also have – at times – Murphy’s Red. And good music. Cheers.
