This restaurant is not large which makes for an informal and friendly atmosphere, so you need to book if there is music. The food is good and the entertainment appropriate.
Favorite Dish: The cream of broccoli soup is too die for; so tasty and colourful. The spaghetti carbonara is one of the best that I have had on three continents.
This place was recommended in the LP and its worth it.
It was very busy on a Weds lunctime when we were there, always a good sign.
We had 2 main meals for 50 Lei (£8.50) which was pretty decent.
Plenty of 'fast food' places doing cheap kebaby type food, around 7 Lei for a kebab (£1.40)
If you want to enjoy great Mexican dishes do not hesitate to visit the Restaurant El Torito, It offers a variety of dishes, Mexican music atmosphere and friendly service from the team. Affordable prices and good location. Mexico in Bucharest!
Favorite Dish: My favorite dish are chicken quesadillas and of course dont forget to drink Blue Margarita, its fantastic!
Bucharest's Hard Rock Cafe is one of the largest and nicest HRC's.
Two large table areas (some 25 tables each) of each side of the scene where bands perform each night from 10pm and a terrace with some more 20 tables outside.
The food is american with a choice of burgers and sides.
Warning: Non-heathly food @ HRC but you probably know that :)
Favorite Dish: Triple Platinum Margarita & Smoked BBQ Cheesburger
Argentine restaurant is located inside the Baneasa Mall in the north part of Bucharest, at the top floor, near other restaurants like a Lebanese one, Buongiorno (a romanian-italian dish chain of restaurants in Bucharest) and Pizza "the" Hut.
Not many clients as the food is most expensive here for Romanians' budget. For travelers shopping inside the mall a steak from Argentine is a tasty treat nevertheles.
Favorite Dish: Argentinian ribeye steak
1000 chipuri (1000 faces): 500 wines - 150 out of which can be bought by the glass - from 20 countries. The numbers are impressive especially for a beginner in this area like me. Situated very close to Piata Unirii, this intimate 3-level winebar was opened at the end of 2010 and is a perfect location for the conaisseurs as well as for an enjoyable evening with friends.
This palce is trying to be an arts-friendly bar and it regularly hosts exhibitions and cultural events.
Obviously, they also serve cheese and charcuterie.
Opened daily: 10 AM - 11:30 PM
You may check their catalogue here: http://www.1000dechipuri.ro/catalog.html
As a huge fan of Middle Eastern food in general, I've tried most of those in Bucharest and awarded Four Seasons with my "favorite" tag: I went there when I was promoted for the first time, on my 24th birthday, on the day I found my wedding dress and to enjoy a quiet evening with my younger sister. So..yes, it has a special place in my heart.
I like it for several reasons but mainly because, as one Romanian journalist described it, you feel as if you're in the living room of your Middle Eastern neighbor, especially in the first saloon. Equally important is that the food served is almost as delicious as the one I've often tasted when visiting my family in Lebanon. Baba-ganoush, tabouleh, fatush, kebbe-nee,smabusek, arais,ras-asfour, event the makene....they're all here. They also serve fish and a fine selection of wines.
The restaurant has three saloons: the first one opened, right at the entrance, is where you can also have a chat with Alain, the owner, who is always around and always ready to call for a taxi for you when you leave. There's a second saloon, preferred for family parties or larger gathering and a terrace - my favourite during summer. A video is available
Price wise, two people would enjoy all the flavors of the restaurant for about 30 dollars (alcohol not included).
Favorite Dish: My favorite dish by far are the makene sausages.
This restaurant has local and International cuisine situated on Kiseleff Avenue.
This was a villa of a rich Romanian which was transformed to restaurant
The selection of wine is large .You can eat also in open area in summer nights
I recomand you ? Dinner and folk show at typical Romanian Restaurant like Terasa Doamnei ,Casa Doina, Hanul lui Manuc
International cusine Casa Vernescu, Nabbabo, Marul de Aur,
Turkis restaurant: Golden falcon
Midlleast Restaurant: Sahara, Blida, Capitan,Coin Vert
Favorite Dish: folkloric show with "Perinitza" dance :) , wine tasting in the cellar, ciorba , sarmale & mamaliga
Looking for a bar meal and spotted this busy English type pub close to Lipiscani.
Friendly and decent food, not a bad place to visit - especially helpful staff too - a vegetarian meal for Mrs B is not always easy - no problem here though.
Enjoyed our visit.
Small restaurant very close to our hotel and a great place to find.
Fantastic , fresh and tasty food even manages three courses a real rarity for us, enjoyed everything so much.
No menu, choose what you want from the counter then into the courtyard on a warm day!
Friendly, comfortable and reasonable prices - a good place to visit.
A lunchtime visit and warm enough to enjoy the outside terrace. Firstly, just one house brewed beer on offer, but a pretty good wheat beer certainly no complaints. Food next, and the menu only in Romanian but able to spot "sausages" and "vegetarian burger" for herself. Now, it's always a good sign when the chef heads off into the garden to pick fresh herbs and the food was really good, tasty and fresh.
So, inside looked great too, friendly, good food and beer and not difficult to find - a good place to visit for food and beer - enjoyed ourselves here.
Lovely pub, close to our hotel, with pretty good food as well.
Both enjoyed our meals here, friendly and helpful staff even a few Belgian beers on offer and another chocolate pancake for Mrs B's dessert!
A good place to visit.
I was told that this is the only fish restaurant in Bucharest. I don’t know if it’s literally true, but after trying it I would say that if there are others they must find it very hard to compete with Mamma Leone.
It is situated in a small house, furnished in an elegant and discreet style.
Here one finds a real feast of fish, both from fresh-water and from the sea: pike, perch, bass, turbot, cod, mullet, sturgeon. Some are fried, other grilled and some are stewed in wine-and-vegetable sauce.
Favorite Dish: It is a pity I cannot remember the precise name of the dish, but among the appetizers there was a delicious preparation of sturgeon with various vegetables that tasted like heaven.
Unfortunately the restaurant has closed and has been replaced by a casino full of slot machines - such is progress in Bucharest.
This restaurant specialises in sea food and does it well. It was deserted one Saturday evening, which meant that we were served well and fast. The phone number given in most guides and directories is 021 318 14 92, which connects to the office, which is empty at the weekend and in the evenings! However try the number below and you should be more successful.
Choose your dish with care and you can eat for Euro 10, including wine. Pick the wrong items and it could cost you Euro 30 or more, which is still cheap for the quality.
Favorite Dish: My favourite dish was the hot starter of Romanian meat. I know that it's not fish, but it was tasty and filling.
I am traveling to Bucharest on weekly basis. I have tried more 4*-5* hotels, but only one has become...more
It might be a really good hotel for somebody else, but it wasn't for me. The beds were very hard...more
