The Snagov Monastery is on a small island in Snagov Lake. In the past, the only way to access the island was to rent a boat or hire a boatman. Today, there is a bridge which will take you to the island for free.

Inside the Monastery Snagov is the presumed resting place of Vlad Tepes, aka Vlad the Impaler, aka Dracula. The monastery is small, and dates to the 16th century, and is where Vlad requested to be buried. The attraction here is the tomb itself - at the front of the church, with a simple framed picture and a candle.

Entry fee to the monastery is 15 Lei (~$5 in 2012), but the rip-off is the 20 EURO photo fee. That's right - they charge 20 Euro to take pictures here.
