If you get up to the Babele and Sphinx rock formations with the cable car from Busteni, and would like to do more hiking, even if you are not an experienced hiker, I reccomend you take the path towards the Heroe's Cross, on Caraiman mountain.
It is a 1 hour walk until there, and the scenery that can be seen is amazing. It is a definitily go for it thing.
The Bran Castle is best known as Dracula's Castle. Apart from that, it's a very beautiful place and it's worth visiting.
all you need is a group of friends who love mountains...
and a dream....that's all....and your dream will come true...
If any of you is planning on taking the cable car from Busteni to Babele Rock Formations, please be advised that there is usually a very long line of tourists waiting.
The average waiting at any time of day is somewhere around 2 hours until your turn comes.
The program for the cable car is from 8 am to 4 pm, for going up.
Be there as early as possible if you want to be able to have enough time up on the mountain.
If you're not into climbing, you can always take a trip to the mountains and just enjoy the landscapes. Bucegi Mountains are a great place for this.
Favorite thing: The parts of this group are: The Bucegi Mountains (The Omu Peak - 2505m), The Leaota (The Leaota Peak - 2133 m), The Piatra Craiului Mountains (The Baciu Peak - 2238 m); the peak with the highest altitude, has the aspect of a crest made mainly of limestone; Magura Codlei (1292m), in the western part of The Brasov Depression. The depressionary regions included in this group are: The Rucar - Bran Corridor, where The Pass Giuvala (1240m) is positioned, situated between The Piatra Craiului and The Bucegi - Leaota, The Prahova Corridor, which forms the eastern border of the group. This is the limit between The Eastern Carpathians and The Meridional Carpathians.
