Try the many Chinese place, pizzas, or the many food eateries near the train station... that is what I can suggest, unfortunately... :-( Leave a Comment Theme: Other

In a Bucarest 19th-century villa, Casa Doina is probably one of the most luxuous restaurants in the city, with traditional & fusion food. You will probably see not-so-young businessmen accompanied of much-younger nice girls. The ambience is relaxed and some days there is live classic and traditional music. However, the service you would expect in this kind of restaurants does not meet the standards. The price is very high compared to other restaurants in Romania, but nothing compared to Paris, Madrid or Rome.
Try the smoked duck - not available all nights. There are excellent Romanian wines. Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: US$21-30 » Currency ConverterComparison: most expensiveAddress: Bvd. KiseleffDirections: North Bucharest

You will recognize this unique and atmospheric restaurant by the blood dripping on the outside wall. Pull the chain at the door to be let in. Inside, you can choose from among the different themed rooms inside: Hunting Room, The Chapel, Medieval Room, Transylvanian Room, or have a drink at the Alchemical Bar. The very descriptive menu lists many local dishes as well as some of Dracula's favorite meals. If you are there for dinner on Tuesdays or Sundays, Dracula may show up for a table-side performance (around 9:30 - 10:00pm, but call to check first in case the days or times have changed, note that there is a 2 Lei- currently a little less than $1 U.S.- cover for the show which is definitely well worth the price!). Young ladies may even get bitten on the neck by Dracula. Definitely a must-do for fans of Bram Stoker's Dracula!
I ordered the "Outlaw's Chicken" which was served on spikes over a little fire blazing on my plate. It was very cool and also very delicious! Targeting mainly towards tourists, located in the center of the town, with a decorated interior and waiters dressed in local outfit, this restaurant surprisingly serves very decent food and is not very expensive. Leave a Comment

The Doroftei Pub in Ploiesti is actually a sports bar which serves food, right on the main street overlooking the city 'square'. It's owned by the retired boxer Leonard Dorin. It serves a mix of traditional Romanian dishes and really fantastic peppered and other kinds of steaks. The staff are very helpful and friendly, as is the owner, if he stops by your table. It seems that most of the people in Romania smoke, and the bar is uysually pretty smoky, but sit near the balcony to keep out of the flow of smoke!! For those who find themselves in Ploiesti on business it's a lot better (and cheaper) than any hotel food!
The peppered fillet steak has to be the best in Europe on a good night. Have it kartofi rustici - refried potatoes with ham and onions and a Bergen beer. At 27 Lei (about £6/$12/8euros) it's a fantastic deal. Theme: SteakhousePrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Bulevardul Independentei, Ploiesti

This restaurant is great!!! . It is built underground and feels like it is built for a hobbet!! A former cellar built 400 years ago. They let you choose the music. Cozy atmosphere and deisicous dishes. Its all stone and the ceiling is very low. Its a amazing place to visit. Its is also very romantic. The service is great and the price is not neary as much as you woud think. If you are going to Brasov, make sure to check this place out! There are actually 4 restaurants with same name, same ownership; we ate at the one near to the Ateneul Roman. The first attempt to eat there without a reservation failed miserably, so we tried the next day, not before asking at the hotel to make a resrvation for us.
Unpretentious, fresh and well cooked Romanian food, great variety and fair prices; what can you ask more? First of all the food - was good and all the items on the menu were available (unusual for a regular restaurant). The service was also good, the interior nice and the chairs confortable. Very few tourists - mainly locals people. Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: Crisan 6, BrasovPhone: +40-268-412324
