Fine dining is hard to find.

by Pinoy

At the time of my visit, fine dining was hard to find in Bucharest. In this case, I tried the student canteen, where many college students from the Universitatae De Bucharesti hanged out. Supa de Pui is the most common food the students ordered. But I would say Romania has the best pastries in all eastern Europe.

I wouldn't know, I didn't eat anything!!!!!!

by ADV27

I wouldn't know...I dont think that third world countries really have all that much to offer in the feild of delicious foods. Not to mention is wasn't able to get any food anyways, due to lack of any money and the fact that the trains and battle devastated train stations had no food period. If I enjoyed the taste of dirt or even the taste of my sandals, then either would have been my favorite dish.

The food is pretty much the same wherever you go-a Bulgarian Salad of lettuce and tomatos, a tomato based soup base with meat or fish; meat and potato; and lots of bread. Cheap too-I paid $2 for lunch anf $3 for dinner. Beer was a quarter but scotch is expensive.

A farm: A farm

by ATLC

Winter cold ride on horsecarts and then treated with hot twicca to drink from enamel jugs and these little bites (cheese, sausage).Twicca is a strong spirit, warmed. There are also bottles of twicca with pears or other fruit inside. I took a bottle home, but there it just tastes like warmed up petrol with a sickening sweet chemical smell. But in Romania I downed 3 glasses without blinking and enjoyed it enormously! The small fried sausages

Restaurant Nicoresti,...

by Romanian_Bat

Restaurant Nicoresti, Bucharest, RomaniaThe price is very cheap (an average 3 course meal will not go over USD 7-8), the service is fast and - most important of all - this place is not fancy or fake, it is a normal place for regular people, just like you and me (I hope). 'Sarmale in foi de varza cu mamaliga', in translation 'minced pork mixed with rice and spices and then rolled up in marinated cabbage leaves, served with polenta'

Capitolium Restaurant, Oradea,...

by Romanian_Bat

Capitolium Restaurant, Oradea, RomaniaThe restaurant has one of the best service in Eastern Europe, I dare say, it is nicely deccorated and everything is done with taste, from the endowments, to the meals. Hetvezer Tokany (Hungarian-like minced beef with a spicy sauce and dumplings)
