Verry good Retaurant with special atmosphere in an old celler. The prices are higher than in usual restaurants but the traditional food is top quality. During festivals and weekends you need to place a reservation. According to the season there are outstanding vegetables and fruits growing. Also the influence of Turks and Greeks offers a rich selection on the menu like Filled peppers, “Mititei” named sausages with garlic spices, herb rollers filed with rice- beef mixture with a little sour cream on top, the “Mamaliga”, a corn meal dumping and “Cascaval” a breaded cheese, only to name a few of Romania’s delicacies food. The most cuisine is quite heavy and so it is costume to drink first an home made plum- schnapps.

If you go to the mountain you should definitely go to the hunters cave or one of the similar ones. This is one of the only chance where you can eat bear meat and other animals like dear and stuff. The decoration is also nice. You start with drinking vodka outside around the fire and then go inside. The ventilation is terrible your eyes get red because of the cigarette smoke though.

Restaurants are scary, not many people can afford them there, so go to a place where you see others eating as well. The bigger Hotels are okay to eat at. If you have family or friends there, give them money so they can buy groceries and they will cook for you, that is your best bet!If you don't want to get sick. Sometime or another you'll see Gypsies or peasants selling this thing called Mitite on the side of the road grilling this rolled up meat thing that consists of a mixture of meats such as pork, lamb, and maybe beef. With a little Mustard it is really good, and inexpensive. A must try once thing.

A word of warning-unlike beef and fish which tend to be overcooked in many restaurants, I have occasionally been served undercooked chicken and pork, so be careful to check before you start eating.
