Lots of great places in many towns. Very affordable - eat like a king with 2-3 courses and beers for under $10.
Try the many Chinese place, pizzas, or the many food eateries near the train station... that is what I can suggest, unfortunately... :-(
This one was my favorite cafe` in thewhole country. Good service and good music (no cheap disco beats), superb athmosphere in the courtyard of the museum.go there!
There are many good restaurants but what is a MUST is to try the local delight that is called 'mici' or 'mititei' but not before tasting a good 'ciorba'

Wherever you go...a regular green salad is great! Their vegetables are second only to my Grandfathers. They use little if any pesticides/herbicides to grow their crops.
Some traditional Romanian food, delicious and unhealthy...Jumari (thick bacon), mamaligutza (polenta) and mititei (a kind of beef & pork skinless sausages,barbecued like hamburgers).
