What types of trains
CFR passenger trains differ from one type to another not necessarily by speed and price of ticket, but by the comfort, the only exception being personal trains. A few tips on each type below:InterCity (IC) – not necessarily the fastest ones, but surely the most comfortable (air-con, bar and restaurant), and sometimes, you may even get classical music in the stereos. IC trains run during the day, so you won’t find any night IC. Allow an extra 2-5 Eur for the comfort as compared with the Rapid trains, especially if the timetable is convenient.Rapid (R) – most common train option. For a few euros less than IC trains, you get the same or even higher speed, a few more stops and classical 6 seats compartments in both 1st and 2nd classes.
