One of the best club concert areas of the city. At evening there plays live concerts of well known bands (usually russian but sometimes foreign too). At night play DJs and electronic bands.

Beside the tourist activities during the day - visiting palaces, strolling along river banks and tasting Russian borsch and other fine food. St. Petersburg has a very very exotic nightlife and since this is White Night celebration (June 20-30) - everyone is out and about.
The average salary of Russians even in St. Petersburg is under US$400 (12,000 rubles) per month. So many Russians consider clubbing in places such as Rossi's as a luxary, where cover charge is 100 rubles ($3) for females and 200 rubles ($6) for males. This place is frequented by a 70-30 mix of locals and tourists. And on free-champagne nights (where there is also the bonus of male table dancing), the number of Russian females go way up. Unlike some other expat hangouts, there seems to be less "working girls", which I consider a blessing.
In the club itself, many Americans and Asian tourists will at first be shocked, then delighted by the topless table dancing which is a standard in Russian night clubs. To be fair, there are both male and female table dancing, the female dancing is erotic and the male dancing combines fun and erotism. He will actually have one of the female spectator come onto the dance floor and perform funny and embarrassing acts with her - all in good fun.
While most Russians I have met do not speak English too well, the new Russians - those who are students or recent graduate - can express themselves OK and they are very eager to practise English with American tourists such as myself in Rossi's, especially after a few vodkas. I had seen this club (Havana) reviewed favorably not too long ago, so just wanted to mention that it's now closed. :-(

Be amazed in the nightclubs by the puls and the partyatmosphere. Well, if you avoid the touristtraps such as the mainstreet stripclubs, that is. Depending on your wallet, age, style, taste in music etc there are hundreds of options! Students have a good time at Club Havanna (metrostation Teknologitjiskij institut), Metro club (Ligovskij prospekt), La Plage (northwest suburb) and many more. "New Russians go to Magrib (Nevskij pr.) and such more expensive places.
My favourite: Metro club
Three big etages with a dancefloor and separate bars each. 1st floor holds a russian disco, 2nd is rave/house maybe? The 3rd has the latest international hits, and also a male dance show popular amongst the girls (driving them crazy) = also popular amongst the boys! The owner is interested in design so the inteiors really make it worth a visit, even if it's not your place otherwhise. Age 17-30, peak around 20.
Be trendy and you're in! Don't be noisy in the que, and you're in! Don't wear a raincoat, ugly hat or anything else you wouldn't wear at home on a club! Jeans is perfectly ok. A costume might be a bit to updressed...
and yes the cue-syndrome is spreading, but don't despair! It's usually fast moving and if the beautiful girls can stand it during wintertime sometimes wearing miniskirts, well you just look unaffected or take an extra zip of vodka before you go there!
