    Popular chain of blini and salad restaurants. Usually clean and bright and a safe bet for a cup of tea and blini.

    When you see the white spoon against an orange background you are at the Chai (tea) spoon restaurant.

    If only they could makethe blini fresh! If you go in and see a 6" stack of pre-cooked blini you know you will get a lukewarm and slightly chewy blini, better just have salad or go to Teremok if you see one.

    Blinii if they make it fresh, decent potato salads, tea

    The restaurant is a gem! Named for Dostoevsky, it is filled with antique furniture, second hand books, and old typewriters. But first things first, like that shot of vodka that you'll receive as soon as you sit down.
    Russian vegetarian and delicious, the menu is in English and Russian. During happy hour (18:30 - 19:30), enjoy two drinks for the price of one, plus your complimentary vodka. Meals around 800Rbl

  • Food was good, excellenT black bread, many choices of salads, soups, meat, fish etc. Not a fancy place but very seemingly authentic in decor and cuisine. Borsch was excellent with a gigantic rye popover ladeled on top. Beer, wine, vodka available. Moderate in price. No need to rush here. While entrance in front has a few steps, restaurant has a back entrance where there is only two steps and you enter via kitchen.

    Close to Vladimirsky Church park on Petrogradskaya Island there is nice cafe/pub in an old building where you may have a snaps of good Russian Vodka.

    here you can taste all traditional Russian dishes and it'll be not very expensive as it is not a restaurant. However the bistro has very interesting interior in style of Russian Izba (cottage).
