Kabardino-Balkariya is rich with mineral waters, including thermal waters. Mineral sources are concentrated in riverheads of Baksan. Local residents long since used them for treatment of illnesses. We visited narsan sources near the settlement Tegenekli. This place is called the "Glade of Narsan". The glade has the area about 3 square kilometers and is surrounded by pine and birch woods.

Six-side columns from dark diabase with white impregnations tower in Azau-gorge on the right above a track. Columns remind something pipes of an organ. In cloudy weather when black color of rocks is especially saturated also waves of a grey fog cling to stone columns, the picture gets a fantastic shade.
Usually ice slowly flows from area of a feed of a glacier downwards, in a valley where it gradually thaws. If the weight of the thawn ice is filled with a dropping out snow, the glacier is in balance. If the ice ceases to move, becomes dead, it can be separated from an alive current ice. Thus new shorter language is formed. All this can be observed on a glacier Big Azau.
The unforgettable impression leaves a dawn in mountains. In good weather as soon as the night haze will dissipate, snow tops are painted in gentle colour gamut from emerald-green and light-violet up to pink, then - bright-red, and at last, silvery.
The fauna of Caicasus is various. The following representatives of Caucasus fauna are brought into "The White book": the bison, the Caucasian blackcock, the bearded man, an eagle - a golden eagle, a burial ground, a see eagle, a swan e t.c.
About 3000 kinds from 6000 kinds of floral plants growing on Caucasus (that is 50 % of all grasses and flowers) meets at the territory of Kabardino-Balkariya which area makes 3 % from all area of Caucasus.The Kabardino-Balkarian state high-mountainous reserve was created in 1976.
Having forwarded on stones through a stream, tourists may continue to storm a slope of Donguz-Orun valley. Donguz-Orun pass is one of the easiest passes from Kabardino-Balkaria to Georgia.
Russian military units were evacuated in August-November of 1942 through pass Donguz-Orun. Fascists did not manage to grasp this mountain pass. There is a monument at the pass.
