    Lenin Square
    by bugulma
Lenin Square is the central square of the city. It is a place where two big streets of the city join: Karl Marks Street and Murav’yov-Amursky Street. The square is popular among both tourists and locals. There are many doves here and people feed them.

    Amur
    by bugulma
One of the big and long River of Asia, Amur, flows in the city. Skripa said to me that it is prohibited to swim in the river. The reason, she said, the river begins in China territory and nobody knows what they throw into the river. All I can add is there is enough garbage in Russian territory and it is sad for me.

  • Cathedral - Khabarovsk
    Cathedral
    by bugulma
Since Habarovsk's foundation there was Uspensky Cathedral here. But it seems it was destroyed and was built this new cathedral, "not long time ago" as it was told to me. Inside there is just iconostasis, I mean the walls haven’t painting as in many churches in the European part of Russia.

Staying near of Komsomolskaya Square it is easy to see another new building of the city, Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral. As well as God Mother’s Assumption Cathedral, Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral hasn't painting on the wall but it has a good view to Amur River.

  • Two squares - Khabarovsk
    Two squares
    by bugulma
The interesting fact is the place has two names, at least in the city map. The territory close to the monument to revolutionists has a name Komsomol'skaya Square and the terroitory near of the cathedral has a name Sobornaya Square despite of there are some dozens steps between places. The square is in the end of Murav'yov-Amursky Square, not far from the embankment

In opposite side of Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral there is World War II Monument. For me it is a special place just exactly here, in Far East because my grandfather participated in battles in Far East in 1945 and his division had Pyongyang as a last stationing.

    Bridge
    by bugulma
I saw many pictures of the Habarovsk's bridge before my trip and when I came I had a big wish to see it. One morning, while Skripa was busy with her affairs, I went to the bridge by walk. My hotel was in the center and that to get the bridge I needed 1 hour around. Bridge is allowed for the trains and cars. Maybe next time I will cross it by feet :-)

Another interesting museum in the city is Fine Arts Museum. It is situated in the same Shevchenko Street, near of the museum of Habarovsk region. The entrance fee is RUR 50 (Eur 1.5). There are 2 floors, one with classical paintings, here is some interesting ones of Shishkin, Kuindji, Steen and some others. The second floor is for cloths and other hands-made of local nationalities.

    Jungles in Amursky Boulevrd

It is a big pleasure to walk in the autumn streets of the city. I suppose that Habarovsk is one of the greenest cities I've ever been, with many parks and boulevards. The picture was made in Amursky Boulevard, the longest green street in the central area of the city.

The museum is situated in Shevchenko Street. It has very interesting exhibitions and I insistently recomend you to see it. There is a hall about fauna world (although there are many stuffed animals and birds and I've never seen so many dead animals in one place). Besides you may get to know traditions of nationalities who live here long-long time. Moreover there is very interesting materials about history of the region. The entrance fee is RUR 100 (EUR 3), and RUR 150 for making photos.
