Favorite thing: On the crossing of Sovetskaya Street and Frunze Street there is theatre of Lipetsk. It has a name in honour of the famous Russian writer Lev Tolstoy. There is wonderful area in front of the theatre with wonderful fountains and nice view to the city (some of them are in travelogue).

Favorite thing: In the park on Pervomayskaya Street there is a monument to Peter I. It was open to 300 years of Russian navy. As a matter of fact in Peter times Russia has access only to Azovskoe Sea and it was the reason why the first Russian navy ships were constructed in the cities situated on the rivers. The one of the such cities was Voronezh, not far from Lipetsk.

Favorite thing: It is situated not far from Metallurg football stadium, in the Torgovaya Street. I just heard that the prior of the church has a reputation of the best in the city. So, I've just wanted to see. The church is new and situated among new buildings as you see

Favorite thing: Another river flowing in the city is Lipovka. It divides central and northern parts of the city. I must say I crossed it by bridge but I didn’t see the river, just a kind of jungle under the bridge, you may see it on the picture.

Favorite thing: In every place I've been I did everything that to see the river or lake or sea in the area. In Lipetsk it is Voronezh River. It was not far from the zoo, in 10 minutes by walk I found the city beach and people swam in spite of it was October already, though there were very hot days (up to +25 centigrade).

Favorite thing: The local zoo excites my very sad feelings. It is the poorest zoo I've ever seen. The strangest thing for me is the cage is the same for both a wolf and for a bear. Another remark is that animals run to visitors straight away that to eat something, it seems for me that there are problems with feeding animals. If you want to remind your the bitterest feelings, pay RUR 50 (EUR 1.4) as an entrance fee

Favorite thing: Next general tip is Revolution Square. It is just in few steps from Upper Pond. The square is the beginning for the one of the main streets of Lipetsk, Sovetskaya Street. In the middle of the square there is monument. I heard a funny name for it, "a man with towel". Well, it's rather like that

Favorite thing: The amazing thing for me is that in Lenin Square there is a church that was kept during Soviet times almost opposite Regional Administration building. The cathedral was built in the end of XVIII century and the bell tower was built a bit later. In Soviet times the regional museum was in the cathedral.

Favorite thing: The main square of the city is Lenin Square. Such squares survive in many regional cities of Russia. Of course, the monument of Lenin is on the square and, as usually, behind it there is regional administration.

Favorite thing: Not far from Lenin Square there is so named Upper Pond (there is no ponds around, though). It is very popular place among local citizens to have a rest and relaxation.
