Church by bugulma I noticed wonderful architectural style of the church in 2 quarters. It's distinctive of Russian churches of XVII century, before schism in Orthodox in the end of XVII; then such style was forbidden as an "old religion". In any way, there are some churches with "old style" roof in Moscow and region near by. The church is situated on the cross of Arbatskaya Street and Posadskaya Street Leave a Comment

Church by bugulma It's the first architecture I've seen when I arrived to the town. I walked along Tolstoy Street and in the end of the street I found a park. The church is situated in the park. I was surprised but in the church the Glory Museum, dedicated to soldiers of WWII and war in Afghanistan, is situated. Most churches in Soviet times were museums and now they are gradually given back to the Orthodox Church. The church was built in XVIII century. Leave a Comment Address: Tolstoy street

Church by bugulma It's very impressive church, located on the hill, not far form Kremlin and Kolomenka River. The church was built in XVIII. Now there is a Regional Museum inside. Some exhibits are quite interesting and for RUR 10 (EUR 0.25) you may look at this. But some exhibits are strange for me. For example, I laughed when I saw the production of local dairy works as an exhibit Leave a Comment

Stop! Guards! by Pablos_new If you are lucky to visit Kolomna at a weekend or public holiday there is a chance to meet a group of people from local Club of Historic Fencing. Members of this club are fond of manufacturing ancients arms and armour. At the kremlin walls you will be able (for free) to try on any armour or handle a weapon. But for each photoshot you will pay some money. See more photos in a travelogue. Rate here. Leave a Comment Address: Kremlin walls, Marinkina tower
