Sergiyev Posad Off The Beaten Path

The place is counting years from medieval times. It was known already in 1308, as monastery here was built. Over 15 years ago - somehow (I don't think anybody quite remembers how and why!) - Dubna became one of Russia's main water-skiing centres. Marfino ponds, lying at different levels, play a very important role as elements of landscape architecture.
