 bugulma Says:  In the center of the town there is Eternal Fire to the citizens of Zvenigorod who took a part in battles of World War II. The eternal fire is surrounded with park where you can sit down on the bench and have a rest a bit. 

St. Alexander Nevsky Temple

 bugulma Says:  In the opposite side of the street, the St. Alexander Nevsky Temple is. It's quite new and it was built in 1902. The rites are available there and when I come in there was a ceremony of christening 

Foundation Cross

 bugulma Says:  When you come in the town border, you're in the long Ignatyevskaya Street. It takes to the one of the main streets of the town – Moskovskaya Street. In the crossing of the streets there is a foundation cross to the founders of the town. The cross is here since 1998.

 bugulma Says:  In the middle of the way there is a bridge across Moscow River. There are wonderful views. I’m sure such natural pictures are worth seeing despite of some tiredness in your legs after walking by foot.

 bugulma Says:  I went to Zvenigorod by train. I got a train in Belorussky railway station and paid RUR 84 (EUR 2.37) to and back. It's possible to have the train in the station in the city near of such metro stations as Begovaya, Fili, Kuntsevskaya. I spent 80 minutes around in the train...

Monastery Bread

Monastery Bread, Zvenigorod

 bugulma Says:  I recommend you to eat monastery bread. It's made by hand and has an interesting uncommon taste, not such as works bread have. I remember I had it in some villages before and I have a kind of nostalgia when I tasted it again. RUR 10 (EUR 0.28) and the bread is yours

 bugulma Says:  I know about nothing. The pavilion isn't on the monastery scheme and I can’t tell something about. It's situated to the right of path near of Transfiguration Church and it’s just beautiful. That’s all I can tell about :-)

 bugulma Says:  In front of Bratskyie Korpusa there is a wonderful flower garden. It was September when I visited the monastery but many flowers were still blooming, in particular, roses. Maybe it's usual thing but I'd never seen before blooming roses in Russia in quite cold autumn climate

 bugulma Says:  Bratskyie Corpusa (Monks' Living rooms) has very interesting style. They were built, as many other constructions, in XVII century. It's situated near of the farthest wall of the monastery 

Monastery Towers

 bugulma Says:  Towers were built in the middle of XVII century. There are 6 towers in the monastery. On the picture you see Zhitnaya Tower, which used as a storehouse for the grain. All towers has the same style and other five towers is very similar to this one.

 bugulma Says:  The monastery is situated in 15-20 minutes by walk from Uspensky Cathedral. You may get bus #23 to get it but I preferred to go by walk. There is a narrow path near of highway and I could enjoy forest views

 bugulma Says:  Gorodok was a fortification in the previous times. It's on the hill, which has 20 meters high. That to get cathedral you should get over stairs first, that is quite long. Gorodok is in 10 minutes by walk from the center of the city, along Frunse Street

 bugulma Says:  The cathedral is situated on the hill, so named Gorodok (little town), which was the first settlement here. As I understood rightly, nowadays the monks and their families live here. Besides here are Church of Epiphany of the Lord, 2002, and some other church buildings
