Novosibirsk Regional Studies Museum is one of the major museums of Siberia.Currently it's collection contains more than 170,000 artifacts. These illustrate 150,000 years of Siberian history, and describe the native culture and population.

Le 7 octobre, c'est la commémoration de la révolution. Les nostalgiques de l'époque communiste se réunissent. Mais ce ne sont plus les grande fêtes d'autrefois !
Oui, il reste peu de communistes !
Et je me souviens des demonstrations de mon enfance. C'etait gai ! Des ballons multicolores, des drapeaux, tout le monde qui marchait le long de l'avenue Moskoi... c'etait une fete populaire !

October 7, it is the commemoration of the revolution. The nostalgic of the Communist time meet. But these are not anymore the big feasts of once !
Yes, he/it remains few Communists !
And I remember the demonstrations of my childhood. It was cheerful ! Of the multicolored balls, of the flags, everybody that worked along the Avenue Moskoi... it was a popular feast !

Le sauna (prononcer saouna), est vraiment une tradition russe bien ancrée dans les moeurs !
Ceux qui n'ont pas la chance de posséder leur propre pièce, vont au sauna public, plusieurs fois par mois.
La tradition veut aussi que l'on sorte du sauna pour :
- en été, s'asperger d'eau glacée
- en hiver, aller se rouler dans la neige (par - 30 degrés !!!).
Je n'ai pas encore osé...

The sauna (to pronounce saouna), is indeed a Russian tradition well anchored in customs!
Those that don't have luck to possess their own piece, go to the public sauna, several times per month.
The tradition also wants that one leaves the sauna for:
- in summer, to sprinkle itself of frozen water,
- in winter, to be going to roll itself in snow (by - 30 degrees!!!).
I didn't yet dare...

Pour Pâques (les Pâques orthodoxes sont une semaine après la fête catholique), on confectionne les gateaux traditionnels : les koulitchs.
Ils en existe de toutes les tailles, pour tous les appé*** (et les familles plus ou moins grandes). Il sont vendus le matin, après la sortie de la messe, puis toute la journée.
Il s'agit d'une sorte de kake, décoré sur le dessus avec du sucre glace fondu, et des motifs différents.

For Easter (the orthodox Easter are one week after the Catholic feast), one prepares the traditional cakes: the koulitchs.
They exist some of all sizes, for all appetites (and the families more or less big). There are sold the morning, after the exit of the Mass, then all day.
It is about a way of kake, decorated over on the with sugar, freezes melted, and of the different motives.

Pour Pâques (les Pâques orthodoxes sont une semaine après la fête catholique), la tradition est de décorer des oeufs.
Chaque année, les enfants (ou les grands), montrent donc leurs talents artistiques !

* A ne pas confondre avec les Pisanki ukrainiens, qui sont des objets traditionnels, devenus désormais une marchandise touristique.

Every year, the children (or the oldests), show their artistic talents therefore!

* To not to confound with the Ukrainian Pisankis, that are traditional objects, become henceforth a tourist merchandise.

Comme des vaches sur la glace !
C'est une expression que vous entendrez souvent, en Sibérie, lorsque le froid transforme les trottoirs en véritable patinoire et que vous devrez faire très attention au moindre de vos pas... Plus de six mois à marcher ainsi, comme une vache sur la glace !

As cows on ice!
It is an expression that you will often hear, in Siberia, when the cold weather transforms the sidewalks in real rink and that you should pay a lot of attention to the least of your steps... More than six months to walk thus, like a cow on ice!
