Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: If you travel in summer -make sure you have something for rainy weather as first part of the year is quite rainy and windy
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Only very unique and customized medicines as local drugstores have pretty much everything
Photo Equipment: This is sometinhg wich you need to take with you as your camera might be toonew for local market
Miscellaneous: If you cannot leave without peanut butter sandwiches - take it with you ^-) there is no good peanut buuter here! Peaople who live here for long - miss it greatly! Especially if they have kids!

Miscellaneous: ..if you don't speak Russian! Most of the international hotels will probably have someone who speaks sufficient English. Younger graduates-types we met on the streets and shops seem to be able to speak at least a little.

Miscellaneous: If you are going to visit a woman in Vladivostok. Bring her a gift of pantihose. It is really hard to get there. Matter of fact, everything is hard to get there. Electronics are out of this world price-wise. Children's books are good to take too. Even helpful for those who are learning english.
