Where to go shopping!

A lot of tourists visiting Petrozavodsk stay in Severnaja hotel, in the very centre of the town. You can do a lot of shopping around this area. But prices can sometimes be twice as high than if you visit a shop just some blocks away.
And sometimes you're advised to visit the big shoppingmarket (univermag) Karelia. Prices here are a lot higher than in other shops.

Unique Suggestions: Compare prices and quality in the shops you visit, at least if you have time and energy to do it.

Fun Alternatives: If you want to buy china from the Lomonosov factory, go to the shop Podarki, just one block away from Severnaja in direction of the Onega Lake. Don't visit the chinashop just opposite the hotel, beside Exlibris book shop.

Alcohol is best bought in the factoryshop to the local alcoholfactory. It is situated in the crossing of Gogol and Komsomolsky streets.

Souvernirs can be bought in Chudochestvennyj Salon, on the Gerzen street.

General Kirov enjoys the late afternoon.

The General Kirov monumnet is one of the statures near the waterfront and you can't miss it. Depending on where you look at it, you might think he is doing something.
