From most of European capitals you can get the capital of South region of Russia Rostov-on-Don(or Rostov na Donu) by aircraft.Azov is the closest tourist destination to Rostov. There are a few international airlines making flights to Rostov international airport directly from Frankfurt,Prague,Vienna and Istanbul(the code of Rostov airport in the international list is ROV):Lufthansa,Czech Airlines,Austrian Airlines,Turkish Airlines. You can find their schedules in the web.Return tickets of economy class cost approximately from $450 to $750.

There are no special infections or dangers in this region but,of course it is better to drink water from bottles.
From July to September weather could be too warm(till 45 degrees C or 110 F and it is better get air-conditioning room.In Summer season from time to time there are annoying gnats outdoor. If you are going fishing or to do any other activity outdoor it is better to use any relevant spray.People basically not agressive and sometimes you can find a lot of hospitality. Not too many of them are speaking English or any other foreign language, including custom officers at Rostov-na-Donu airport or any police officers across the region.Mind this problem before you go.Get money exchange only at banks.A few of them located in city center. This is not dangerous. They work only with 2 currencies:dollar and euro. You can sell both of those currencies and get roubles(this is the name of Russian currency). If you don't need roubles anymore you can sell them back.Cabs are cheap. One jorney to any point inside the city of Azov is no more than $2.
