What to buy: You can buy what we call live beer at some local shops.
The beer is brewed in Rostov region.
The same shop will seal the plastic beer for you and also will sell fresh dried fish from the Sea of Azov. It is mostly bream.
As the shop assistant told us the bream used to live in the Sea of Azov five days ago.
Lots of men do not carry the sealed plastic bottles home and open them right at the entrance to the shop where there is a special counter for that. Thus there is an improvized self-service bar outside the shop.
I tried Donzhivoye beer and Bavaria beer from Yeysk.
My local friends said it was a must for any visitor of Donetsk.
Great taste I must say!
Beer and talk always go together!

There are surprisingly many florist's in this town.
I liked this one located at the crossing of Lenin Street and Gorky Street downtown.
They sell not only imported flowers, but also self-grown ones.
I found florists to be the friendliest shop-assistants in Donetsk.
