You will reach this park after you pass Ussachov Park that was dedicated for the 50th anniversary of Donetsk that was celebrated in 2005.
Glory Park is between Ussachov Park and the town stadium.
You can see several munoments here:
- Motherland statue;
- Fallen soldiers memorial;
- Chernobyl memorial.
There are a lot of benches where you can sit and relax.
I did not see too many people there.
The quiet roads in and around this park belong to what they call Avtogorodok ("Automobile Compound").
This is where they learn to drive a car at a driving school.
The park is called Ussachov Park
It was called after Yuriy Ussachov, a Russian cosmonaut, Hero of Russia, who is an honorary citizen of Donetsk.You will reach the park after you walk past Shakhtior leisure center.
The park has a lot of benches, a Ferris wheel, a nice fountain and several sculptures.
Who could have thought that this town had such a splendid aqua park!
The aqua park is called Aquarius (Vodoley in Russian).
It is located downtown, has several water slides, or "water hills" (this is how we call them):
four sliding hills for grownups and three – for kids.
There are three swimming pools: for little kids, one with 0.9 m depth and one for grownups (1.3 m deep).
There is also a winter bar.
It is open from 10 a.m. till 8 p.m.
The entrance fee is 300 RUR ($12-15), the happy hour is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and costs 100 RUR (about $5).
The town history museum is located in the same building with the movie theater where it occupies the second floor.
There are several halls and two of them are dedicated to the history of the Russian Don Cossacks.
