Kurumoch Airport is the city airport, which has international flights by the way. Flights to Moscow are every two hours. I saw Aeroflot and local company Samara do flights but maybe some other flights exist too (I heard UTair does it as well). I go to Samara by plane, ticket is RUR 570-6500 (EUR 165-190 around) to and back. The airport is in 50 kilometers from the city around and it seems the best way to get it is taxi (RUR 1000, EUR 30). Another option is to get bus to the southern part of the city (RUR 9, EUR 0.25) and then to change the bus that goes to the railway station, the central part of the city Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

Station by bugulma Samara has very modern railway station. Even Moscow hasn’t such modern buildings as a station. Unfortunately I was near of railway station once, in night when I was back with my friends after beer restaurant and therefore the quality of the photo is not good :-)). Trains to Moscow go in afternoon and in early morning of the next day you arrive to the Russian capital. Leave a Comment Theme: Train

Tram lines by kiwigal_1 Samara has a great public transport system. There are tram tracks all over the city and suburbs and a good bus system too. These are both, however, very crowded especially on major routes. They cost 3 Roubles to wherever you want to go. There aren't many official taxis in Samara so if you want to go anywhere it is very common to hail any car going in the direction you want to go and negotiating a price for your destination. This is quite safe and a trip will cost anything from 10-50 Roubles around Samara. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Soviet Trains by kiwigal_1 I came to Samara by train from Moscow. The train was overnight and left from the KAZAN Station in Moscow. There are several trains a day to and from Moscow and Samara. It is also possible to fly into Samara. Lufthansa provided flights between Frankfurt and Samara. Aeroflot has flights daily between Samara and many other Russian cities although Samara Airlines provides the cheapest flights. http://internetelite.ru/samara-airlines/english/index.html Leave a Comment

by Astralka Better look twice who is driving the bus, because it happened several times that our bus driver was drunken (not just decently). There are few signs when you should be alert. If there is a loud music in the bus and when the bus slows down instead of stopping on the bus stops. Or the best would be to let the bus driver to blow the balloon. by Astralka It was the most horrible travelling by train ever from Lepzig (Germany) to Samara. We were using a Russian train where you could not open the windows. Imagine, during those hot summer days the heating was constantly on ! They said it was broken, but I think it is still broken in that train. (I got some experience working with Russian people..) Maybe this train was the reason why we wanted to stay and live in Samara for ever ? :o) Leave a Comment Theme: Train

by Astralka The locals took us for a bike trip. It was fun, only I was afraid that we loose sb. on our way. As you see, helmet is not required Leave a Comment Theme: Motorcycle

by Sweet_Marina This is the Drama Theatre in Samara, an old building actually, built in about 1880, but still looks as a toy house. It's my favourite building in Samara. It is said to include items of two different styles which normally do no wgo together but every time I look at at I am surprised how harmonic and complete it loks!!! Very attractive and charming i think. It's in the centre of the city, so you'll find it easily. Leave a Comment

Kubychev Square by kiwigal_1 Kubychev is the original name of Samara. The statue in front of the Ballet building is Kubychev himself. The Square is home to a market every Sunday and was the scene of many military parades during wartime. Leave a Comment Directions: It is located in the old section of town and is easily reached by bus and tram.
