Our young people(and some of the workers), after a long days' touring decided, after reaching the war memorial, to have a seat..............unfortunately on the memorial itself, not realising it was in memory of 20 million Russians who lost their lives in the last war.. They do not have the respect for this sort of thing that Russians do so whenever you are in Russia................Respect their memorials, and it would be a good idea before your visit, find out what Russian customs are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and respect them.

This was one of the activities I planned to help raise money for the Russia trip and involved engineers, supervisors, managers and office staff from the company I worked with, plus some trip members, and took place on the Regents' canal between Little Venice in Paddington and the Islington boat club in City Basin in Islington.-----------------A sponsored dragon boat race.---------------------------
The drummer/pace setter at the bow is Anton from Tomsk city

our first day and our first meal in Tomsk.
One of our group-a worker no less, and foisted on me by someone who should know better, criticized this and every subsequent meal, plus everything Russian that she could think of----------------Extremely unprofessional for a 'supposed' youth worker--I've hated her ever since and vowed that if ever I found someone of her ilk on a trip of mine she would be left behind whether in Siberia or Timbuctu.

taken during a trip on the river Tom with Andrei and Dave. The boat is called the Natalie and has accomodation for 18 passengers, has a bar although you'd have to bring your own beer and spirits of your choice if you don't like vodka(or Russian)vodka
