A traditional banya is usually a small log house with several rooms. First to enter and prepare and with a cold shower or tank, second with a stove and rocks to heat water.
A venik made of birch leaves is dipped into water and used to massage your body.
Wear a wool hat, possibly dipped in water, to cool your head.
When you get fully hot and sweaty, exit and jump into a cold basin or shower,
Repeat as necessary!

In the administration building inteh lower city there is an alcove to the right with a desk that Putin used to sign documents and a large painting of Tobolsk.
Upstairs is teh Nicholas II study museum.

Many of the yareds between apartmetns in the upper city have locally constructed playgrounds for children. There are refreshing change to the modern plastic sanitized palygrounds that are taking over everywhere.

The old wood drama theater burned down, but is depicted in many images of Tobolsk.
There is a modern soviet-era theater in its place.
