    San Marino is not one of the member nations of the European Union, but it uses the Euro as it's legal tender.

    It actually has it's own coins (but not notes) with various historical buildings on them. As it can only issue coins in relation to the population of the country, it follows that San Marino coins are compartively rare.

    A full set of them makes quite a nice souvenir, but as far as I can work out only those above 20 cents in value are actually in circulation. The smaller value ones just appear in 'collectors sets'.

    The One Euro coin inparticular features the coat of arms of the country.

    This palace is used as town hall and also as official Government building.

    It was built between 1884 and 1894 on the site of a previous building constructed at the end of the 14th century. It was restored in 1996.

    Some rooms of this palace are opened to visitor.

    If you like to stay ouf of the crowd or have a rest, there is a nice small garden near the Cava dei Balestrieri. It is on the way to Palazzo Pubblico.

    Inside this garden there are some benches and four beautiful statues.
