Generally, anything outside of San Marino's capital - also called San Marino - is off the beaten path. Within the city, the Museum of Immigration is well worth a visit. Creatively put together, the very friendly staff can tell you all you ever wanted to know about San Marino's widespread but little know diaspora. Oddly, this small hidden treasure is not as well signposted as San Marino city's other sights. Beyond the city, some of the other town's of the Republic deserve a visit for their quaint town squares, old traditional homes, charming bars and restaurants, and in one or two cases, their small museums and 'castles.' Definitely worth visiting are the towns of Serravalle, Monte Giardino, Borgo Maggiore - which can be visited by cable car from the capital - and Domagnano. Note that some of these towns are just off the Republic's 'neon mile,' but just be persistent and adventerous...
