Nightclub on a boat.

Supposed to be the best place to go.

We went twice.

Friday night was too packed, and lots of terrible R&B music.
Sunday much less busy, but maybe 50% full of gays. Music was much better, more floor fillers.

Drinks are about £1.50, not bad for a club. Entry £1 on Fri, free on Sunday

On the website it looks huge, but it is one of the smallest clubs I have ever been in.

Dress Code: Anything goes on Sunday, little more strict on Friday, but jeans and trainers is fine.

About the good night clubs in Bratislava I can say they aren't so many.
The best one at the moment is Trafo, its in the center in the Old town.If you plan to go there just do it before 11 pm, afterwards you're gonna stay in a queue for at least half an hour.Charlie club, Laverna and Sparx are still ok, but Cirkus Barok is really awful lately..really dont advise you to go there..bad music and weird people:)

In the evenings of my days in Bratislava I often went to an Irish Pub called "The Dubliner". It is a relatively big location with the typical Irish Pub atmosphere: wooden interior, a long bar and the latest sports events live on screens.

At the bar I got in contact with various interesting people from all over Europe. Someone told me that the Dubliner used to be the Irish pub with the lowest price for a pint of Guinness in the world until a cheaper pub opened in an African Country.

They have the typical Irish beers on tap, but also local beers like Zlaty Baazant or Kelts. A pint of local beer sets you back only 2/3 of the price for a pint of Irish beer. Pub food is available as well.

An Aussie student, just wanna say,make sure you know how much you drink costs before you order. Most places are good (slovak pub, bar across from charlies) but other bars, the bar tenders will take what you give them and walk off, it may not be much but it adds up. in just over two drinks in BAROK CIRCUS i paid sk100 (euro3) too much. Its not much, but honesty goes along way. I took another travllers tip and asked for a bill, but got some random bill for sk 430. so just pay with what ever it says on the menu in excat change if possible, its a pain in the ass but will save you over the night.

The one and only place in Bratislava that you can call club is Dopler. It is not exactly in the center, so it is better to take a taxi (from the old center it is about 150 Sk - which is nothing). The entrance fee is usually 100 Sk, during the weekdays nothing and during special parties can be higher. You can check the party list and hosting DJ´s on their website. The club has 2 floors and is hosting most of the major events - house, techno or hip hop. The atmosphere is just like in any other club around the world, the design is in my opinion quite cold and urban. Last time i was there on a hip hop event we waited 1 hour !!! to get outside, so better leave a little before their closing.

Just across the narrow street from havana another dancing bar called Medusa. In my opinion the music is one of the best in town (songs reminding of club 54 era), the people are well dressed and the place is very fancy. At the beginning of the party I would recommend to have one picolo - the coffee is really extremely good in this place. Wine is very expensive, but coctailes are about the average. Strawberry mojito is one of my favourites. Around midnight it may look quite boring but as soon as the coctails get to people´s blood the party is starting and you can dance till 3 or 4.

Dress Code: no dress code, but in sneakers you wouldn´t feel comfortable in here

Great mojitos, good looking bartenders, live cuban music and party till the break of down...This is a place I usually go on Friday or Saturday..if you don´t mind the slovak girls trying to catch the first tourist (well that might as well be the reason to go there:) and the tourist trying to catch the first slovak girl you could have fun. On Friday it is really packed so sometimes is really better to go on Saturday. The music is excellent - half live performed by Cubans living in Slovakia (they are dancing as well) and half played by DJ (only latin music obviously). Coctails are expensive just as in other bars and clubs in Bratislava. Mojito is 170 crowns, wine and beer is more expensive than average, so go for the coctails. Bartenders are really professionals and very good looking:) My favourite drink is Mai Tai, but one or two are enough trust me:)

Eden Pub was the only true nightlife spot we hit in Bratislava. It is located on Obchodna about 15 minutes walk from the central part of the old town. We stopped here because it was one of the few places that looked busy along this stretch on a Tuesday night. We sat down near the bar and it seemed like all of the customers were college students out having a good time. We had some beers which ranged in price from 27-32 SKK for a wide variety of local brews. We didn't stay too long, however, because the smoke and noise got to us quickly.
