I was wandering through the streets of Bratislava when I noticed a Restaurant sign 'Pig Kill'.. This drew my attention to the Staroslovenska krema restaurant in Michalska Street. The restaurant is located in a basement and has been given a celtic theme. Service was very good, and food was enjoyable.
Favorite Dish: To start with I had the local garlic soup served in an emptied out loaf of bread, and for my main course i settled for Somova Rolada, which is tender loin of pork filled with smoked pork, cheese, mushrooms and dill sauce then served with local dumplings.. This was then washed down with a beer or two...

this is located very close to the Danube river ie near the hotel gracia and close to the St martins cathedral
We went for lunch and came back later in theweek for dinner
Lunch nice toasted bread and liver plain and yummy
Toasted sandwich cheese and bacon- they called it 2 melted breads
Dinner
yummy Spagetti carbonara
Fried cheese very heavy
Desserts were grand nothing special
but food portion was generous
Only thing though and i'll have to say this could be just a mistake
Waitress not the friendliest -and the bill it had me down as having 10 espressos instead of the 1 i had ! so best to check the bill
Cost for the dinner came to 1100 for 2 with beverages for a 3 course meal which is 34 euros very good
i like the touch that they gave out business cards when we were paying for the bill in the booklet with the bill
i googled the resturant and http://www.obedovat.sk/bratislava/Restauracia_312_Bar_Par%A1da gives the menu ok it is in slovakian lístok but u could always get a tranlator and work out the menu as a guide

Cafe Lyra is one of the best values in historic Bratislava. For dinner we had a huge schnitzel (250 SKK) and beef goulash (150 SKK)...many of their main courses come in student portions for almost half the price as other places in town. I also had 3 Zlaty Bazant beers for just 20 SKK each and Laura had 3 Coke Lights for 35 SKK apiece. Our total bill was 565 SKK or 18 USD...for large portions of good food; not bad at all for the center of town.
Inside is nothing special, kind of dark...but it does seem to have a good crowd of locals.

The restaurant Leberfinger is well known for its cuisine based on traditional Pressburg specialties.
The building has had a chequered history and was originally an inn that was even visited by Napoleon. In the 1950’s the building became run down and after being destroyed by fire in 1992 was rebuilt in 1996-1998 by the Civic Association of the WEST Theatre.

An excellent kosher restaurant in the city center, just opposite the Ibis hotel and is also a pension. This was my first encounter with Kosher food and I really liked it. The service is excellent and the prices are just about average - I paid around 350 Sk for soup, a vegeterian dish and tea. It was also fairly calm when we dined there so it's a nice change from the busy restaurants in the Old Town. It's possible to book a table through their website.
Favorite Dish: Borsch - for those who do not know, it's a thick vegetable soup with beetroot served with sou cream and is reallt delicious.
