    How to get there
    by macicka
Ikea is a kind of shop where you can buy mainly furniture but if you need some accesorries for your flat, you can find lots of them here. You can choose from many types of china, flowers, carpets, candles, frames, pictures etc.
If you didn't find anything for your flat, you can have at laest lunch here.
When you go home, you can stop in a small store where you can buy typical Swedish food.
Opening hours are: Mon - Sun 10:00-20:00

Well I usually buy some small things here such as frames, candles and I never forget to buy Swedish cookies in chocolate.

I think you can buy a cup for 25 Sk ( cca 0.5 euro) but if you want to buy a Persian carpet, you should be prepared to pay more...

Old Market Hall (Stara trznica): Fruits, veggies, etc

This place had fallen into disrepair until 1999, when it was revamped by a British architectural firm to reflect its original design elements. It's a very simple, open market with metal accents all around. There are supposed to be as many as 90 stores here, but I don't think there were nearly that many that were actually operating, giving the place a still slightly disused feeling even if it no longer is neglected and in disrepair.

Fruits, vegetables and various other goods.

Shops are open on Monday through Friday, 6am to 6pm, on Saturday 6am to 1pm and on Sunday 6am to 11am.

The Polus City Centre is an award winning modern shopping mall which was opened in 2000. It has designer label shops spread over 2 floors, a multi-screen cinema, supermarket and a number of cafes and restaurants.

If you're here you must try all sorts of beer. For Bratislava is typical Zlaty bazant (Golden Pheasant) but it is already with financial help of Amstel beer..not so keen about that. Then try Smadny mnich :) (Thirsty Monk) but my favourite one is Martiner Porter dark 14 degrees ... really delicious

  • An art shop selling paintings, drawings, jewellery, clothes and accessories. It is situated in the much-frequented area of the central SNP Square close to McDonald’s and the Czech Centre. Exhibitions are held here with the idea of selling the work of contemporary Slovak and foreign artists (for example the jewellery of D. Brunovský, the fashion collections of M. Trizuljaková etc.), but you will also find older pieces here.

  • A luxurious bookshop with various thematic and genre sec-tions which is manifestly orientated towards good literature. It is located on the busy Štúrova Street, thus as you rush to one of your business transactions, it will at least make you stop, if not pull you inside. Chronic book lovers will be repeatedly delighted with their old antiquarian collections, as the newest re- editions of older titles are today at least twenty times more expensive. However, at the same time they will definitely not be able to resist the flood of good literature, absent from our market during the time of enforced ignorance of “bourgeois” literature.

The unique crockery sets hand-decorated with genuine etching and embellished with 24-carat gold are truly superb. The pure crystal forms of vases, plates, glasses and ashtrays are equally charming. Moser is a luxury store with a first rate selection of goods and first rate prices.
