You find the City Museum in the Old Town Hall. The museum was established in 1868 and is one of the oldest museums in Slovakia. The entrance is in the corner of the courtyard.

The City Art Gallery in the Old Town has a great selection of various types of art. The Gallery extends over three floors and its exhibits range from impressionists paintings to very modern art pieces. One of the most interesting was made up of hundreds of books and 4 mirrors, which when put together made an amazing optical effect (see picture).
Right next door to the Primate's Palace is the Municipal Museum. Here you will find exhibitions on the history of Bratislava and an interesting collection of Medieval torture instruments. The museum is located in what was once the old town hall building, built in 1421.
Admission is charged. Hours are 10 AM - 5 PM Tuesday to Friday and 11 AM - 6 PM Saturday and Sunday. It is closed on Mondays.
