This place has a hideous interior decor like some color-blind gay duck was responsible for the eclectic midge-modge where Retro means making the place look like the innards of some 1990s laptop. The place assaults the eyes so badly because, usually, there's no one in the bar to cover up or divert attention away from the walls and chairs (except the coakroaches in the toilets). Occassionally, one of the angry-looking security guards will sit with one of the fifty year old part-time whores and give the place some ambience; an ambience I'd rather not be part of, nor the rest of Kosice I think.
Dress Code: Normal Slovak fair...slutty ofr women, white tee shirt for boys.

The only place we found open on a Tuesday night was called Beer House. For a long time now we will be very grateful to the bartenders as they allowed us to drink for one hour after the closing time and for being the only Slovaks that actually made us feel welcome in their town.
Definetely the strong Slovak beers are a MUST TRY!!!
On their website, it looks that they have live concerts in the weekends.

Golem seemed to be the kind of place that the local students or litterati hang out. Perhaps the conversations weren't all about Sartre and Foucault, but then I don't speak Slovakian.
This pub sells food at reasonable prices but we just popped in for one of their home-brewed beers. The place has its own micro-brewery which you can actually see through some windows at the back of the bar.
The loos in here are fantastic by the way! I've never seen any decorated so fantastically! Sounds weird, but it's true.
Choose from light and dark beers, reasonably priced. Try to get both! I preferred the dark...
And when you walk in through the door you'll be greeted by Golem with his shining eyes, as pictured!

Not actually a Jazz Club, or at least it wasn't when we were there. The most well known local disco. Be alert though.
Dress Code: Smartish, but being foreign will get you in.
