If your're staying in Terchova and want to do only a small trip, take a bus to Stefanova , a village in the heart of Mala Fatra mountains and from there take a walk to Prislop. The trek is only about 30 min but the surroundings are beautiful.

This is a very nice hike for experienced hikers. It's a whole day trek with steep ascendings and descendings but the views are worth the effort. You start off in Stefanova village hike up to Horne Diery (a canyon with ladders) and you'll get up to Medzirozsutce. On your left you'll have Maly Rozsutec but you'll go right, up to Velky Rozsutec, the last parts are secured with chains. From there you can either descend to Stefanova or follow the route up to Stoh and then to Poludnovy Grun and from there to the chalet Chata na Gruni.

Diery is a Canyon in Mala Fatra - Vratna valley, there is an easy trekking path (Dolne Diery and Nove Diery) that leads through it and its suitable also for children. The longest route takes about 2 hours. You will walk at the bottom of the canyon and there are small ladders to help you along the way. There is also an informative trail on the route with descriptions also in English that will tell you more about the nature in this area. You can start your trek either in the village Stefanova or from hotel Diery. From Stefanova you can also access Horne Diery that are more difficult and a longer trek.

Up to this mountain you can either take a cable car or hike. I suggest the cable car as from there you'll find a number of nice treks with unforgettable views.

From Stefanova you can hike up to Boboty, a hill overlooking the village. It is a quite demanding trek, around 2 hours up and 2 down to Terchova. The ascending is quite steep.
