If your're staying in Terchova and want to do only a small trip, take a bus to Stefanova , a village in the heart of Mala Fatra mountains and from there take a walk to Prislop. The trek is only about 30 min but the surroundings are beautiful.

Up to this mountain you can either take a cable car or hike. I suggest the cable car as from there you'll find a number of nice treks with unforgettable views.

This is a very nice hike for experienced hikers. It's a whole day trek with steep ascendings and descendings but the views are worth the effort. You start off in Stefanova village hike up to Horne Diery (a canyon with ladders) and you'll get up to Medzirozsutce. On your left you'll have Maly Rozsutec but you'll go right, up to Velky Rozsutec, the last parts are secured with chains. From there you can either descend to Stefanova or follow the route up to Stoh and then to Poludnovy Grun and from there to the chalet Chata na Gruni.
