Good points for reaching the top range of mountains are Staré Hory (the bus station between B. Bystrica and Ružomberok), Liptovské Revúce (from Ružomberok) and villages near Turèianske Teplice (Blatnica, Necpaly, Belá-Dulice). The first picture on this page is from these mountains. You can sleep down in the villages or in soma challets or old wooden buildings (salaše) directly on the top range and try to drink fresh milk.

If you want to see the play of colours, try to visit Bešeòová. Microorganisms help to change water into the stone (travertine). There is a thermal bath pool and small castle in the village too. Bešeòová is near Liptovský Mikuláš and Ružomberok (northern Slovakia)
